My almost 3 year old refuses to wear trainers. He has worn sandals over the summer months and has no issues wearing these. He'll put on his comfy boots that he wore through autumn and winter last year but he flatly refuses and kicks off when I attempt to get him to wear any kind of trainers. He's just started a sports group though and he can't wear sandals or boots to this. He's not been able to go this morning because he refused to put his trainers on and had a tantrum.
He has a bit of hyper mobility in his ankles but I don't think this is the issue, he says they're "too hard" but all trainers need a bit of wearing in, but he can't wear them in if he refuses to wear them!
Any advice much appreciated.
