Baby’s weight gain

Ds is 26 weeks old and I’ve got him weighed every 4ish weeks since he was born. Each time he’s put on at least 1 kg. I took him today though and he’s only put on 350g over the last 5 weeks. He has started to roll over more and sit up on his own, he’s also dropped from 6 feeds to 5 over the last couple of weeks. HV didn’t seem concerned but I don’t know whether to be worried about it considering how much weight he’s put on previously.

What centile was he born on, and what centile is he now? (Or what weight was he each of those times, and I can look up the centiles for you.) I think it's unlikely you need to worry, though. Babies' weight gain slows down a lot after the first few months – the average baby boy gains about 4.5 kg from birth to 6 months but just 1.5-2 kg from 6 to 12 months.

He was born on 75th centile and went up to 98/91 centile, last time he was weighed he was on 98th centile but today it’s come down slightly to 91st, he is tall for his age and does have reflux but that’s never affected his weight before

He's 6 months old, doesn't need to be weighed that often and he's a big baby...
his weight gain should slow down now! Relax :)

Joe weight gain will slow down as he moves. It will probably slow again when he crawls and walks.

If having him weighed is causing a little stress I'd look at other indications that he's getting enough calories like is he bright and alert at times and is he meeting his milestones.

They don't follow a centile line perfectly – wandering around between, say, 91st and 98th is completely normal. It's only if they're consistently drifting down across the centiles that it's a concern. Your boy sounds like he's doing grand.

Yeah he seems to be doing well and I think the big difference in how much he’s gained before compared to this time has made me panic a little bit
