My 1 year old son is scared of women. He is ok with most women over 50 years old, but women around my age (30), he is terrified of. He is the worst with my sister and she looks upset sometimes. He loves all men though and never has a problem with them. He even loves the postman and milkman! Any tips PLEASE!!

The only advice I can give is the usual thing - time. My dd was petrified of her grandfather from a baby until she got to about 3 and refused point blank to have anything to do with him, which was embarrassing at times. We all had to learn to live with it. He is grey and mainly bald so that may have had something to do with it but she now adores him.

I think you just have to wait - I think it's just a phase that he is going through. My dd really doesn;t get on well with my MIL - has literally screamed hysterically on previous occasions when she has visited and will not tolerate being picked up or held by her. Makes me feel incredibly uncomfortable - but as she is getting older (now 15 months) it is starting to get a bit easier.

Think it also has something to do with the way that some people approach babies, i.e. expecting just to be able to pick them up and get right into their faces from the very beginning does not go down well at all.
