Discipline for 7 year old

Any advice will be appreciated. The behaviour of my almost 7 year old seems to be getting worse. She speaks rudely to me and her father, the other day she shoved me and today she punched me in the face as i wouldnt let her have a sweet after dinner.

We have tried time out in her room and she won't stay in there, she keeps running back out.
We try talking to her about her behaviour and she shouts at us.

We have a jar that we put pasta pieces in whenever she is good and she gets a treat on the weekend if its full. Which seems to help a bit.
We take screen time away if she is violent.

I don't know if we are best ignoring the bad behaviour so it doesn't escalated or if it will make things worse.

Hi, just so you know you are not alone. My 12 year old is exactly the same, always has been, never does as he’s told, doesn’t follow rules. I’ve tried time out, naughty step, iPad away, no YouTube, treat for everyone else but him and nothing seems to bother him. But the only thing is, he’s always listened to if not scared of his big sister who is 23 ! He literally shits himself if she comes in the room yet I do and say exactly the same as she does and it’s like nah !! Trouble is my 8 year old son is heading the same way 🤯 they batter your head don’t they haha

There’s a great page on Instagram called secure foundations which focuses on children’s behaviour as an expression of a need, and helps reframe your responses around connection rather than punishment. My daughter was very similar and still is very emotionally reactive to simple requests and instructions, I think I’ve come to accept that this is part of who she is and when I focus on connection rather than correction it passes quicker and we all go to bed happier.
