Hi Parents,

My DD just turned 2 last week, she is not fond of playing with other kids. At the party, she gets irritated and tried to scratch her playmate face, the mom of her playmate said "don't get near her anymore, she will just hurt you go play with other kids" instead of being angry i just feel sorry and hurt for my little one. She is really a sweet and happy baby girl, she's just used to do independent play because most of the time it is just me and her at home. She is a late talker and she cant express her feelings yet. Should I be concern? How do you handle a situation like that?

Her playmate is social because she is always surrounded with adults at home, she goes to kindergarten because her parents need to go to work.
Sometimes my DD is being compared to her playmate that's why sometimes it makes me feel and think that there is something wrong with my DD. I feel really sad.

I can understand you being concerned but you are only comparing her to one child and there's a huge range of normal at this age!

If you think she's a little behind on her speech, how does she do on this SLT progress checker?

There are a couple of suggestions from A Mighty Girl to help her deal with her emotions.
