Boob to bottle (or?) - how to

Mumsnet please hit me with your tips!

I am going back to work next month when my EBF baby will be 8 months old. (My mum will look after her 9-5 4 days a week).

She refuses the bottle since she was about 2 month old.

She does eat pureed food increasingly since she was 5 months old.

I am worried though that the "solids" wont be enough without any BM or FM during the day (and she will be hungry and/or keep me up all night feeding)...

so far I tried a few types of bottles (probably past it now), a few sippy cups and the Doidy slanted cup. She refuses any kind of milk from any of these vessels. She does drink water successfully from the slanted cup.

Any tips or tricks you tried to get your LO to accept (any type of) milk in a similar scenario- please send them my way

Thank you!

How often will you be BFing in the day? Can you fit in 4 feeds? Say one on wake up, one on pick up, one before bed and a dream feed?

Yes, I thought I do one at least between wakeup and handover, two in the evening (on on “receipt” and the evening feed) and I think in all likelihood she will have one at night.

Lol sorry OP, I realised that is exactly what you suggested 🤣. Do you think that will be ‘good enough’?

Four feeds at that age is plenty. Your supply will be well established and BF babies tend to take the same amount over the day whether they're fed every hour or twice in the day.

Wow! I didn’t know that. But looking back on my own experience it makes complete sense!
thank you
