Toddler hitting

DD is approaching 3 and she’s always been the kindest sweetest little girl, she never even went through terrible twos!

she’s starting to hit a lot now and I’m at a loss as to how to handle it. We are giving her warning and when she doesn’t listen she gets a time out. We’ve tried to talk to her about emotions and how she’s feeling and other things she can do if she feels angry/sad but not quite sure she understands. It’s getting to a point where she’s deliberately hurting her baby brother and we sometimes end up having big reactions which I know doesn’t help!

any advice as to how we tackle this?

I wish there was many replies to this. My DD was 2 in October and I have a 4 months old as well. She is pretty sweet to her baby brother but to me when she is tired she is vile.

She will kick me, headbutt me, smack me and try to pull my hair. We just had our neighbour over who called unannounced with a gift for the baby and she kicked off in front of them. I was so embarrassed, and I know she was tired but I am in a similar situation to you. I don't know how to get passed this as it is happening daily 😢🥺.

My husband says it will get better but it's OK for him, he goes to work I'm on maternity.

If you managed to get passed it as this post was a while ago, I'd love some advice.

TIA xx
