Screaming but not awake? 13 months

My daughter has had 2 occasions over the last 2 weeks where she has screamed horribly like a proper scream cry a few hours after she’s gone to sleep

when I’ve gone in to see her she’s not moving just led still and not awake she is just screaming so much and it’s really difficult to wake up

once she wakes she goes back to sleep easy but it’s starting to worry me now, does anybody know know what this could be?

I’ve read she’s too young for nightmares so wondering if there’s anything else

Sounds like night terrors my DS has them and he's the exact same age.

Could just be one of those things. Have you tried gently laying a hand on her tummy to see if that comforts her?

That’s the first thing I try, that and stroking her hair but she lies there so stiff just screaming she’s not awake, it is so frightening as I think something is wrong and then she doesn’t wake up even if I turn the light on etc and she’s usually easy to wake

Really! So hard, what are we supposed to do without disrupting their sleep too much? I read they have night terrors when they get older and this is too young! But it seems to fit the description
