6yo and 4yo boys just do not listen

Any advice please as I feel like me and DH are banging our heads against a brick wall. My 6yo and 4yo boys just don't listen. Examples like they're banging a toy really loudly I can say their names 10x before I have to raise my voice to get them to look up/stop. Or they're about to jump off the playhouse I can say their names / dont do it, over and over. Tried the step over and over, tried stopping "late nights" but not getting anywhere. Me and DH have had enough as it's multiple times a day now. Childminder also now complaining about lack of listening. Not a hearing issue as after a conversation with 6yo he confesses he hears me and doesn't know why he doesn't bother responding 🤷🏼 he's an angel at school

What consequences do you put in place?

We haven't done much besides speaking to them about how important it is and occasionally putting them on "the step" or losing privileges but by then it's usually escalated

I'd try a new tactic, something like Magic?

Hi, my 11 year old son is exactly the same with me. He doesn’t listen or do as he’s told. I have to tell him over and over. I have tried all the normal approaches as in talking to him, asking him, taking things away etc but ABSOLUTELY nothing works. Trouble is my 8 year old is now following although he’s not as bad. My eldest will listen to his big sister (she’s 23) but not a thing by me !
