17 month old autism referral

Hi,

my little girl has recently been referred to pediatricians for autism/adhd. I’m just wondering what can I expect? How do they go about the assessments? She is under speech and languange currently and a nursery nurse for sleep and we have been in touch with occupational therapists for sensory processing behaviours she is doing. I’m just a bit overwhelmed and a bit lost on all this. I’m aware of signs but honestly I have no idea what I’m meant to be doing or what’s going to happen and just looking for a hand hold from others that have been through the process with their children, whether your child was diagnosed or not and what the experience of it all was. just stressed and nervous ❤️

I’m really shocked they’re doing this already with her age, I was completely dismissed until now and my little boys 25 months and doesn’t say anything at all he has only just been accepted by the speech and language triage and portage😪 in all honestly I can imagine you’ll be referred and it will be a huge waiting game xx
