10 month speech

I just wondered what other mums experience was of their 10mo speech as I keep reading different things about what he should be doing. My little one babbles alot but then sometimes he is completely silent for hours. It unnerves me tbh. He doesn't say da da or ma ma and doesn't really seem like he will any time soon. Am I just being too anxious? Any experiences of your little ones at this age would be much appreciated

How does he do on this progress checker @Devilsmommy?

Devilsmommy · 10/08/2023 14:44

Sorry I don't know what progress checker is and no link came up but he's a great babbler when he does it but like I said he can go silent for hours. His feeding is great, on solids, lots of finger food and eats same as us at dinner time. He crawled at 5mo, stood up at furniture at 8mo and is now taking steps on his own so not worried about overall, it's just the talking, I don't know what he's supposed to be doing. And thank you for replying, you've helped me before

So sorry, I don't know how I managed to not include the link! It's here.

It told me to speak to someone as I answered no on some important questions. And that was the 9 month one. So definitely will speak to hv. Thanks for the link😊

Ok I'm that case I would talk to the HV, like you say. Ask her fir a referral for a hearing test and SLT.

Id also ask her to do the 10 month Ages & Stages.

Thanks so much. He's my first so I didn't know if I was just comparing too much or should genuinely be worried. Thanks for the ages and stages link, at least I can keep an eye on it to keep checking development.
