DS1 (4.10) usually asleep at 8pm. Wakes up about 7.30-8.
DS2 (9 months) varies between 8 and 11.... depending on day sleeps. Wakes anytime from 6 to 8.

Acinonyx · 27/02/2008 21:51

DD 2.5 goes to bed 8-8.30 and up 6.30-7.30 (usually no nap). I'm astonished at all the kids who go to bed at 7 or earlier - there's just no way I could get dd to bed that early.

monkeybutler · 27/02/2008 21:58

I find it interesting too. I know parents who say .she doesnt get up till 8am. and I am dead jealous until I relaise they go to bed at 9pm. Thats still 11 hours. Mine do 7pm till 6am (grr)or 7.30 to 6.30am (slightly less grr) at age 4 and 3. DS (3) has a moan at eleven ish but settles back. Never hear from DD unless having an earthquake!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 27/02/2008 22:01

!
but had to wean self off for dh sake!

oliviaelanasmum · 27/02/2008 22:02

DD3 (5 months) 6pm -6-7am (copious feeds in between )
DD1(6) & DD2 (2.11) 7.30pm-7am wake up for school.
At weekends it may be slightly later but they will lay in bed a bit later.

HonoriaGlossop · 27/02/2008 22:19

DS is in bed by 6.30pm having stories but he actually drops off anywhere between 7pm and 9pm. He finds it hard to drop off (no matter what we do, I think we've tried most things)

He is awake between 6am and 7am, it varies

FuriousGeorge · 28/02/2008 07:26

dd1 is 4.5 & dd2 2.5,both in bed by 7pm,both normally up by 7.30-8am.They love their sleep.

naturalblonde · 28/02/2008 07:36

dd 1.6 goes to bed at 7 wakes up at 6

bigdonna · 28/02/2008 08:02

all kids have different needs as in adults some survive on little sleep.my kids at that age needed 12hrs but now at 8 and 10.my 8dd needs about 101/2 hrs my ds can survive on about 9-10 hrs.but they still go to bed by 8.30pm latest.

oopsiedoopsie · 28/02/2008 08:39

14month old daughter baths and is in bed by 6.45, stirs a little in the night but goes back off unnatended and wakes up at about 7-7.30am

threestars · 28/02/2008 10:10

DS is 3 & a half, and I aim for 7.30/7.45pm. While he aims for much later...
He's usually awake by 6.45/7.00am.

sfxmum · 28/02/2008 10:15

dd 2.9 goes to bed between 8-9 up between 7.30-8.30
generally sleeps fine no naps

lizziemun · 28/02/2008 10:18

DD1 (4yrs) 7pm earlier if very tired.
DD2 (6mth) 6 - 6.30pm. Wakes about 11.30pm for a feed and maybe a couple of times early morning just give her her dummy and toy then goes back to sleep.

Both are a wake about 6.30am.

Personnel I like both my children in bed as early as possible as i like my evening to myself.

lullabyloo · 28/02/2008 10:31

ds is 3.7
bath at 6.30
stories till 7.30,songs & bed by 8pm at the latest

sleeps to 7-7.30am

givemehope · 28/02/2008 10:44

I think this is all a bit culturally variable. Have a spanish friend who is amazed that british children go to bed so early but we have such long, dark evenings that what else can you do with them?
As long as they're not over-tired don't think it matters what time bed-time is (pre-school anyway).
Very jealous of all of you with 12 hour a night sleepers though. DS has never done this!

legalalien · 28/02/2008 10:44

DS is 3.3 - goes to bed around 8.15 on average and wakes around 6.45 or 7, although 6.30 recently as it gets lighter in the morning / the birdsong gets louder in the morning.....

Mummy2TandF · 28/02/2008 10:47

Ds - 3.3 bed at 6:30, up at 7:30am
Dd - 1.3 bed at 6:15/6:30 up at 7:45ish
Saying that they were both in bed before 6 last night and up at 8:00am

sakurarose39 · 28/02/2008 11:04

My DCs are 10 and 8. They have a bath at 8:30 and then read/play for a bit. We don't have the TV on after 8pm usually. Lights out is between 9 and 9:30, but I know DD (age 10) doesn't drop off to sleep until nearer 10 some nights.
They get up at 7:00am. So they get just over 9 hours sleep. My DD tends to sleep in a bit at the weekend (an extra hour or so) - DS gets up EARLIER on Sat/Sun... at least they are old enough to get their own breakfasts so me and DH can have a bit of a lie-in at the weekend.
Agree about the culture thing - here in Japan, everyone seems to get by on much less sleep! I am never in bed before 11:30/midnight. And my kids friends say they often up until 10 or 11pm

HairyToe · 28/02/2008 11:07

7pm till 7am both dds

I am impressed by people whose kids go to bed later - you've got more stamina than me. By 6.30pm I'm on my last legs and desperate for a rest (/glass of wine). Not sure I could cope with any more Mummying in the evening....

dd 13yrs goes to bed at 9pm sometimes still awake at ten as she suffers with insomnia[like all the women in the family]

ds 3.2yrs goes to bed 7.45-8pm and wakes around 7.30 - but lately has been very tired by bedtime and waking about 6.30am - so may need to change the routine.

legalalien · 28/02/2008 11:46

Hairytoe - I work full time - if DS went to bed at 6.30, there wouldn't be any mummying in the evening! So stamina yes, but to claim mummying-stamina would be a bit disingenuous!

oopsiedoopsie · 28/02/2008 13:59

Peterduck, two words.. Blackout Curtains!

My2Weegirls · 28/02/2008 15:21

dd1 (3.1) goes to bed 7.30 and is awake 5.30am ish - but must stay in bed till 6am

dd2 (6mo) goes to bed 7.30pm up at least once during the night, then wakened by fairy elephant at 6am.

tori32 · 28/02/2008 15:29
