At what age did your dc stop becoming disruptively excited about coming events?

DS2 has always got very excited and worked up about forthcoming events.

I remember not that long ago the fortnight before Christmas was just a complete-write-off, because he would get so hyped up and exhausted, not sleep well, get up early, think about it (and jabber on about it) constantly.

I thought we were passed this. But it's happening again.

He's playing a lead role in the school play and he's performing in a music festival the same week - but both are still naerly 2 weeks' away, and he is beside-himself with excitement. And really struggling to cope with day-to-day life.

How can I get him to chill?

hee hee

Maybe I should just accept that the anticipation is all part of the experience?

Phew! Tis all over now - and we've had the added excitement of an Ofsted Inspection.

Hopefully we can drift back to our normal status quo now
