congrats! I started a thread when DS did it first time, I was so excited!

Can't remember how long it took him to go back again, not long I don't think.

funnyhaha · 26/02/2008 13:11

Ahhh, well done him
I'm afraid there's no answer to your second question - took ds about 5 mths, dd a few weeks ...

phlossie · 26/02/2008 13:14

Ah sweet - my dd has just mastered back to tummy too. I'm waiting to see when she works out that she can go the other way - at the moment she cries until someone rescues her!

Just wait until he takes his first steps! You really do feel like yours is the first baby to ever accomplish these milestones! DD first rolled about two weeks ago, and she's starting to push in one direction when on her front now... we'll see...

Lateasusual · 26/02/2008 19:12

My ds has gone the other way tummy to back but not back to tummy yet - he is 3 months old!!

Harri1 · 26/02/2008 19:43

just wait he'll be rolling over non stop soon

fryalot · 26/02/2008 20:17

aah, when dd1 was this age, I rang everyone I knew to tell them that she rolled over

congratulations

(can't remember enough to answer your question though)

milkgoddess · 26/02/2008 20:22

tyey do different things quick and slow, dd rolled at 4 weeks, but still doesn't sit or crawl at 8 months ! yikes ! but they all get there in the end

Meandmyjoe · 26/02/2008 20:37

Aww, how sweet. I got ridiculously excited when ds learned to roll. He was exactly 15 weeks old. He's now 26 weeks old and still hasn't learned to roll back! maybe that's not normal! I think they're all different. Some never roll either way and just learn to crawl from sitting position so there's no one answer to your question really. Sorry can't be of more help! Very pleased for you though, soon every time you take your eyes off him for a second he'll have flipped himself on to his tummy. It seems to be ds' favourite pass time. I think he just enjoys the wail to be rescued as the next time I put him down, he does it all over again

strawberrylace · 26/02/2008 22:25

My DS has also discovered the back to front roll, and now won't stop! Every time i put him down on his back he rolls over, but then he gets stuck - he's fine for a while playing on his tummy but then gets frustrated and i have to turn him over, just for him to roll back again. Glad to know it's not just me that has this problem...

Lucy10 · 26/02/2008 22:32

My DD did the back to front roll for the first time last week, but couldn't get her arm out. Then after a 3 hour sleep she figured out how to get her arm out and rolled from her tummy to her back in the same direction. Now she kind of rolls around in a circle and I can't stop her!
