Is this normal for a 4 1/2 month baby?

Hi. My DS used to be quite content playing by himself on the play mat or the bouncy chair. But recently he has started to fuss when I put him down and will cry to be picked up. He loves playing games with me and being held to stand, but I'm finding it difficult to have to entertain him constantly. He is not content to just sit on my lap either so I can't get anything done when he's awake. I assume this is all normal for a growing baby, and that my DS is not being particularly high maintenance? Thanks.

Normal I'm afraid - it doesnt' get any easier the older they get!

Hi snowmoon. Sounds perfectly normal I'm afraid. Once he's on the move, he'll be able to entertain himself more, but that also means he'll be able to get up to more mischief!! Grin

Yes, very normal (she writes, while simultaneously jiggling, cuddling, singing and dancing for an insatiable baby!!)
I thought babies just sat and smiled sweetly before I had one!

Thanks. As long as it's normal :) I am beginning to worry what it's going to be like when he's mobile Shock
