Hi,
Not too sure if I've posted this in the right place or not!! My son is 3 next month and up until a 4/5 months ago he wasn't saying may words mainly just mama, dada and nana. He's now currently saying 31 words in total and I'm very very proud of him! But his health visitor and nursery have flagged his speech up and have referred him to speech and language due to the fact he's not speaking in full sentences yet.
I had a chat with ex (DS Dad) who said DS doesn't speak to him either, his words were "I've only ever heard him say mama, dada, rawr and woof woof when he sees a dog" which has got me baffled! Because he speaks a lot to me and my partner, granted he can't speak in sentences but he still communicates very well with us and can put a few words together sometimes! This isn't the first time someone has commented saying he doesn't speak much to them as close family members he won't speak either. Is this normal for a kid to be like this? Maybe a bit of anxiety? This is my first child so I'm not familiar with this!!
