Hi ,

I'm new to this forum . I'm really struggling as a first time mum . My boy is 18 months only goes to nursery one afternoon a week with me not working BUT I'm really struggling .

I have ADHD and feel constantly overwhelmed and beat myslef up that my son isn't walking . He pulls himself up and the HV said he has over probation so waiting for physio assessment . Most of my friends children are talking and walking saying loads of words and Harrison says about 3 .

I try what I can with him but nothing seems to work . I understand every baby is different but feel I have nobody to talk to about this .

It can be difficult to get one before 2 in some areas but you can find out from the HV how you can fight for a speech therapy referral for him to work on his speech, also you could see if there's an inclusion service in your area that can send a teacher out to speak to his nursery about how best to help him. Over-pronation is quite common so the physio should hopefully give him plenty of exercises to work on.
I know it's hard not to beat yourself up, I did too when I first got my son referred for his severe speech delay but you clearly care so much about your son so it's certainly not sounding like anything you've done just as your ADHD just happened, so can other developmental issues.

Hi, just wondering how you got on as I’m having similar issues as a first time mam
