drastic cry change

hi

my dds just drastic changed her cry, shes got a rash (10 red spots -not meningitus- dapped over tummy)-but that might be nothing. ive been trying controlled crying over the last few days, and her cry been the same, it was working- she feel asleep on her own n was going bak to sleep after a bit in the day. she just slept thru last night. .

ive rocked her to sleep tonight because i dont know if shes ill or not.

if the rash as disappered tomorrow, and shes just changed her crying has anyone got any idea why, what i shud do? and has anyones else kid dont this!

How old is she?

If she is ill at all, or has recently had vaccinations then I would want her checked out if her cry has changed dramatically.

I don't worry much about rashes unless accompanied by illness- but if obviously ill then I do pay attention.

If in any doubt ring your emergency dr or NHS direct. I find the emergency dr often more useful as you get dr's advice down the phone- whereas NHS direct would probably just say A and E.

hi shes a year old, no recent injections yet!!

her rash has faded n almost disappeared, and i havent heard her cry. she was ill 2 weeks ago with a throat virus. but she still didnt cry the same.

theres no othger signs of illness.

but if her crys the same and she not ill then why would it have changed?

Perhaps her throat is still sore, that may change her cry (think how it can change your own voice). I'd take her to the doctors to get her checked out.

Babies with ear infections very often cry in a different way to usual, too.

thanx. i think i might just go see the health visitor tomorrow if its still the same- im a lot less panicky now the rash is faded

is ur dds cry hoarse aswell? louder, hoarser sounds like it soulh belong to someonle else baby?

do u think its due to the throat virus.

how long has ur dd had it? what have u done for the cry.

ive only just got her falling asleep by herself n sleeping thru the night via controlled crying , n its now slipped right bak.

its on off during the day. but awful at night. - ive just had to rock her to sleep for her nap.

i am beginning to wonder if its just to get attention, but it actually worked the night before all this, she slept thru after falling asleep herself - no bottle at night at all.
so i dont get why now?

is urs doing it thru the day.

how r u handling it?
what do u do at night when shes crying- i hate it her cry sounds like shes trying not to choke.
