from top to bottom. it was all my fault as i clearly did not leave the stair gate on when i could have sworn i did. she is just 9 months old.took her straight to the doc who said she is fine. but i am v worried anyway and wracked with guilt. has this happened to anyone else? anything i should be looking out for?

Yes, with all 3 of my older 3. But they seem to bounce. number 4 hasn't done it yet but then she's quadraplegic so I'd have heave her down myself.
Don't feel guilty. She's ok and most of us do it at some time or other.

don't worry about it. Are your stairs carpeted? If so she will be more shocked than hurt and it might teach her an important lesson about stairs. Has it happened in our house?... yes, one or two times

She's fine, the doctor says so, and doctors see this sort of thing all the time.

They are very well padded at this age, and very relaxed and flexible.

You8 know how when you are wasted drunk, you only ever seem to bruise yourself, whereas if you were sober you'd be really injured? It's because you're relaxed, like a baby!

She will have forgotten it, by the way.

Ds1 LITERALLY went head over heels. Ds2 fell down my friends stairs only yesterday. They are both fine.

I know it's not the same when it's yours

DS did that. Babies bounce very well

DH felt terrible - I was away at my grandad's funeral, and he called me the morning after to say that he had fallen down the full flight of very steep stairs.

I felt much better when the GP told me that his daughter used to climb over the gate and fall so often that they got a big bit of foam at the bottom of the stairs in the end!
