"Twinkle twinkle little baby
go to sleep it's your bedtime
close your eyes, lay in your bad
go to sleep, little baby
twinkle twinkle little baby
go to sleep, it's your bedtime!"

Upsidedowncake · 22/02/2008 19:54

Oh that's gorgeous. Here's one that I sing to DS when he is driving me and DH bonkers.

Wind the Daddy up
Wind the Mummy up
Throw. Stamp. Shout Shout Shout.
Throwing on the table.
Throwing on the floor
STamp your feet together
Stamop your feet some more.
Clap your hands together - 123
Lay your hands up on your knee
etc

constancereader · 22/02/2008 19:57

That is great.

I also like your song Upsidedowncake.

canadianmum · 22/02/2008 19:59

upsidedown - presumably the tune is to "Wind the bobbin up" ??? Fabulous

YouKnowNothingOfTheCrunch · 22/02/2008 20:01

We used to sing this to ds2 when tiny (to the tune of dingle dangle scarecrow):-

When mum and dad were sleeping,
And ds1 had gone to bed,
Up jumped ds2
And this is what he said...

I'm a whingy, whiney baby
With a dirty smelly bot.
I will cry and cry for hours
If you leave me in my cot.

(Repeat ad infinitum. Ds2 loved it!)

Upsidedowncake · 22/02/2008 20:02

Wind the bobbin up, it is - frankly the original words are very silly.

Colditz, I didn't mean to take the piss btw. i think yours is gorgeous, it just reminded me of mine!

Upsidedowncake · 22/02/2008 20:03

Youknownothing - lovely!

YouKnowNothingOfTheCrunch · 22/02/2008 20:05

Oh it's so lovely when tiny children sing to each other - it's like they're real people IYKWIM

Lovely children you have there, Colditz.

roisin · 22/02/2008 20:14

colditz - that is really lovely. I'm not normally an "awe cute gooey" sort of person, but that's really special.

colditz · 22/02/2008 20:35

It would have been lovely if ds2 had not subsequently screamed in rage until he vomited bile all over himself because ds1 refused to lift him out of his cot. That would have been lovely!

I did try to calm him down, by the way, but he was too furious for that.

Poor you! Just keep holding on to the loveliness as you mop up the bile...

You're raising some corkers there, Colditz (and I mean that sincerely!)

To the tune of "Tavern in the Town"

Stick your bottom in the air (in the air)
Stick your bottom in the air
If you don't I can't get your nappy on
Stick your bottom in the air

Dd claims she remembers this, although she's now 6
