Baby biting nipple is ruining BF

My 11 month old has recently started to clamp down on my nipples with his four razor sharp teeth so hard it's unbearable. I dread BF now. He thinks it's funny. I get SO angry that level of pain my immediate reaction is to scream and lash out I can't even control it I don't want to upset or hurt him but he just won't take a bottle or a cup. I'm so upset by all this any tips or advice please :(

Have you tried immediately unlatching him when he does it? Rather than giving an emotional response (which is of course what we all do inside at least - it hurts!), which at his age will probably be difficult for him to understand and respond to, the second you feel the teeth coming into contact, unlatch and put down on the floor. Biting = end of feed until he's calm enough to re-latch and not bite.

@Scirocco thank you so much for getting back to me. I can't even feel him start to bite honestly he just randomly goes in hard it's so instantaneous there's no leeway! Even though I have said no and stopped the feed and shouted so many times (even though I don't want to) he doesn't seem to get it....

@scrabbledabbl I'd give one of the BFing Helpliness* a call. They helped me when I had a similar problem. It was quite a while ago though when we were going through it and the BFC on the helpline will have the most up to date information Flowers
