Hi everyone,
I feel like the most awful and selfish parent in the world.
I love my electronic music and my son loves this nursery rhymes and I have the music on in my car. I have recently read that listening to loud music and permanently damage hearing.
My son is 3 years old this month and we have to use the car every day as we live in a semi rural place, I also put the music on everyday.
I have downloaded an app and measured the volume we listen to the music and nursery rhymes. It's between 60-70 decibels.
I was hysterical yesterday and I called my doctor as I was worried about what I have done.
Are there any hearing specialists on here? I'm so worried and I feel so so awful.

60dB is normal conversation level, so try not to worry. When people are talking about loud music and noises, that's not what they tend to mean.

It's good to have some quiet time as well as music, but I don't think there's any harm in what you're doing. If you're still worried, maybe turn the volume down a little bit for your own peace of mind?
