Hi all,

My daughter has just turned 18m. She is able to walk with a walker and whilst holding hands but will not do it on her own. I think it is confidence as when we lift her to help she just crosses her legs and crawls to where she needs to go. She walks across furniture fine and let go so not holding on. Is there anything i can try to encourage it? HV said may refer to physio at 19m. Thanks

When you say she's walking with a baby walker, is it one she pushes along or one she sits in?

Did you introduced balls in play? Something simple as this may help children because they need both hands to play with a ball.
other ideas would be to let baby walk barefoot (if it's warm enough) or o put toys on sofas outside baby reach in order to practice and strengthen leg muscles.
Does she prefer one side of her body than the other?
