What age roller skates

What age did you get your children roller skates and roller blades?

My Daughter is 6 and her coordination is really not great but she has asked for roller blades for her birthday and not sure if it's a great idea?

I'd get them, she's asked for them and I'm sure she'll love them.

If there's an indoor skate park nearby they might do girls nights which are usually super friendly. They might even do holiday clubs.

It depends not only on their coordination but their will to do it and their will to listen to instruction as well. My very well co-ordinated 5YO got rollerskates since her 4th birthday. We've been a few times to a local skate place and she can just about do it but refuses to let go of her dad or the side or listen to a single thing we're saying to try and help. We've explained that we think she's capable but that if she doesn't listen to what we're telling her to do and bite the bullet and go for it she'll never learn but she doesn't want to know. I've seen 3/4 year olds whiizing around our rink though. If your dd wants to do it then let her have a go
