Autism - what do I need to know?

Both my kids are being assessed for autism. I know next to nothing about it and need a crash course. What do I need to know? Who or what can help? The school have been next to useless as are my family.

@squeakyclean13 come on over to the SN Children Section. There are lots of experienced and helpful MNers in there. Plus it doesn't show up in active discussions so you tend to only get people with experience commenting Wink
