My 3 year old DS has recently taken to full on screaming fits and tantrums particularly at bedtime. I can't physically make him sit on the naughty step and if i try to go to the other end of the house he comes to find me so he can hit me or throw things at me. I have no idea what to do and have resorted to giving him gentle smack on the bum a couple of times

cos I work all day I only get a bit of time with him in the evening and it seems to be taken up with physical battles and him eventually sobbing himself to sleep - sometimes I feel so angry at him and other times so sad and desperate

DH can't help as he is disabled/ill (long story)

please tell me what i can do

Could he be overtired?
Maybe try to get him in bed earlier. A bit tough to start bedtime routine earlier when you work but better than tantrums every night IMO.

3 is a tough age with boys. Have read this on here on many a thread. DD being 3 is soooo easy compared to when DS was 3 (or maybe I've got better at this parenting business!)
