Son not speaking yet

My youngest son is 21 months old and is still not speaking yet - should I be worried? When is the latest that a child starts saying their first words? We are a bi-lingual household.

I think the expected age is older when they are exposed to more than one language?

How's his receptive language?

He understands what I say to him, he points to things to comunicate what he wants and he looks at me when I speak to him.

Go to GP and ask for a referral to the audiology clinic. A lot of children at this age have so-called "glue ear", liquid in the ear. This limits the sounds they hear and as a result, delays speech development. There are ways to fix it.

Its a good sign that his receptive language is good, i would still go get a hearing test referral and start pushing for a speech and language referral just because speech waiting lists are really long ( It only took DS 3 months to get a hearing test, but speech we were told is nearly a year, although its likely worse than that now)
