DS urinated on me on purpose

He's 4 years and 5 months old. We were getting into pjamas after his bath and he was telling me his ear was sore, I was trying to take a look inside and suddenly he smirked and did a wee on me.

He started to chuckle and I started to shout WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?! His eyes grew wide and he clearly realised he'd done something v wrong but I was so cross and couldn't stop myself having a go at him, I must have told him it was disgusting about 20 times. He then apologised over and over and started to cry. He said he 'just needed a wee'.

We 'repaired', had a cuddle, I explained wee and poo are germy and smelly so we only do them in the toilet.

I have a gut feeling he was trying it out to test my reaction and see if he would get a laugh.

Has anyone else been through this ?! How did / would you have handled it? It was so weird he's really not a badly behaved child generally, he has been testing limits lately but nothing out of the ordinary til this! Gross! Now he's asleep and I mainly just feel guilty for how much I shouted at him!

Grim but not nearly as grim as your reaction.

Sorry that was unhelpful. I think it was fine to tell him off firmly but you are taking this way to seriously. Obviously its an undesirable behaviour but wee and poo don't have the same connotations to small children as they do to adults - they find them funny. Not that long ago you were changing his nappies and praising him for weeing in the potty, of course he's not going to be as horrified by his pee as you apparently are.
