14 Month old can only say Dada?

Is this normal? He is noisy through the day, but the only actual word he say is dads, the rest is babble.

My eldest was saying a decent list of words by this age so this feels he’s behind. Google suggests contacting someone if they’re not babbling or haven’t said their first word by 18 months which we have a few months until then anyway - but I think I’d feel better hearing from others that it is normal 😅

I sit with him a lot saying words, he points at everything at the moment so I always say everything really slow and clear for him and he doesn’t even attempt to repeat me ever 😂 is he just lazy?!

How does he score on this Speech and language checker?

If you're worried about him at all though, I'd call the HV and ask her to do the Ages & Stages Assessment for 14 months.
