I will start by saying I've tried everything in my power to let things settle by themselves not make a big deal of things but there are some issues regarding my son that is making me wonder if something actually is going on .
He's 7 years old. School have never mentioned anything regarding his behaviour / focus. But these are the behaviours that make me wonder.
My son when he becomes interested in something it will be to the exclusion of EVERYTHING else. He will want to watch about it on tv, research it constantly on google, read about it draw it role play it dress up as it. He will tell everyone all about the facts he has researched and I don't mean superficially he will dig deep about whatever subject it is.
He also has problems with friends. He says nobody will play with him but when I dig further it will be that they didn't want to play the game he wanted and because it must only be the certain game he wanted he will just play that alone. Sometimes if his friends say something to him he will just say 'I don't care' or something else very blunt.
I know this sounds very vague but I'm just wondering what with his obsessional narrow focus on things and his inability to interact with his peers if I should be worried

I think it's definitely worth asking his Teacher how they think he's getting on abc maybe seeing if SENCO can observe him.

Do the school have any help for the Pupils who find playing with others difficult?
