Hi ladies,
seeking advice as to when your toddler stoped eloping. My son is 2 years and 9 months and when out just runs and doesn’t seek his parents, when did your asd toddler stop this if they were like this. Also he started saying a few words teeth, car and now nothing just sounds like dum but recognises letters when I say point at s he does. I am just waiting for him to talk, any positive stories would be much appreciated thanks

Does he have a diagnosis of ASD @Sumy?

He is in the process and has been seen by a portage, speech and language and pedeatric appointment next week.

Ok so you might get some more responses in the SN Children section but for us I think I was still using reigns in Reception occasionally. What did help was having a scooter but I had to run alongside.

Thank You, yes I use reins sometime but want him to learn. He doesn’t ride a toy car or bike so scooter might be pushing it with my son.

Unless you're certain he's not going to run off and into a road or disappear in a busy place I think you'll need the reins for a little while longer.

Yes your right, I only let him rein free in the park or wide roads and if he doesn’t hold my hand back in pram.
