DD 6yo - struggling with group swimming lessons - should I teach her??

Will keep this brief!! DD has never been confident around water - never really did the swimming thing with her when she was little as she screamed the place down even having a bath and hair washed
Anyway, she started swimming lessons in September and is doing ok but still no real confidence at all.
The last 2 lessons she has slid off her "woggle/float" and ducked into the water a little bit before the teacher has grabbed her and the last time this happened she was really hysterical crying and carried that on all the way through the lesson.
Question now is do I take her myself on a weekly basis and do one to one teaching with her or do i continue with the group lessons (currently 6/7 children to 2 instructors) - would she benefit from having just me concentrate on her rather than a bit at a time in the lesson?

TIA!

My DD, DS1 and DS2 are all in swimming classes at the moment each week. They have about 5 children max per class for 2 teachers. They really love it and did start nervous, with the crying etc.... but now about 4 months on they love it.

It is a gradual thing where they have to learn that getting their heads into the water is not going to harm them and once they come to that realisation, they soon settle down.

I would take your DD to the pool for a few fun swims, make sure you go under and then come up smiling....that is always a good way of boosting confidence(the old "look, mummmy can do it and so can i" routine)
