Acting like a cat.

My son age 11, his school has phoned me very concerned about my sons behaviour. He says he’s acting like a cat and licking himself like a cat. My son does like to pretend to be a cat and bought himself cat ears etc. I pay no attention to it either way good or bad and waiting for him to just grow out of it. But school is very concerned about this, should I be ?

@Cookiedough22

This just brought back so many memories I used to absolutely love pretending to be a cat ( can’t remember my age though sorry ) but I can remember it well - I used purrr meow lick want to be stroked , my mum bless her would put bowls of water out for me to drink!

i grow out of it after a while - Im now 31 and totally normal

Yes he does this and bought himself cat ears too. Are teachers trying to make them grow up quicker and not allowing them to be children anymore? It’s not like he’s in high school, it’s primary school and only just turned 11. Not long had his end of year report and was also shocked the teacher had written in there about how he’s immature. I don’t get it 🥴

Does he generally like cats? As I did when I was younger loved them ( not so much now ) I guess he’s just playing/acting I don’t see the problem I really don’t. Like you say he’s in primary school for god sake let him be a kid I’m sure he’ll grow out of it - I also went through a phase of speaking in an American accent for months at school at home etc no one was ever concerned about it .

Oh yes he likes doing the American accent too lol. He likes wearing his horse mask also.

I hadn’t found any of it concerning and seen it as him just being a child but have found that I’m now concerned a teacher from a primary school has found it concerning!

I can remember dressing up as a mermaid but as with every thing else I grew out of it.

a few weeks after that phone call they started auditioning for they’re school play which ironically they’re main character was a cat !! 🙄
