Seven month old sleep

Hi everyone,

I need advice. My seven month olds sleep is TERRIBLE. We're currently on wake up six tonight and I am exhausted. This has been going on for weeks now and seems no way related to going through a growth spurt or teething.

He is currently 90% breastfed and has one bottle of formula before bed. Whenever he wakes up I end up breastfeeding him as this is the easiest way to get him back to sleep without him crying the house down. He's started eating solids. He also is very very close to crawling.

I am not keen on sleep training however there must be some way or something I am doing wrong for him to be waking up so much?? All my mom friends with babies the same age have two wake ups a night.

Would love some advice
Thank you

My almost 6 month old sounds very similar though not on solids. At night he looks for me to breastfeed him to soothe him back to sleep and that’s become almost every hour during the night. He’d happily sleep on top of me although he does go into his cot fine between times.

I can see how this reliance may have happened - in the early days with a newborn when we were on survival mode - and now at this stage I don’t know how to get him to go back to sleep on his own or to sleep for longer stretches…

How is he in the day @11newmom2022?

Do you think there's a chance he could be reverse cycling? So he's busy in the dry and making up his calories at night?

I'd try offering BFs every 2.5 hours in the day and trying to make sure that any solids are calorie dense, so things like avocados and oily fish are good, as well as chicken and cheese.

How are his naps too?
