First off, sorry if this is in the wrong category.
I have a 2.5year old boy who has suddenly started holding in his poo. He went regularly up until about two weeks ago when he had one poo in 10 days. After that poo, which seemed to be sore, he refused to go so he ended up getting an enema from his paediatrician. This was a week ago. We've had one poo since that time and you can see he needs to go and he will tell us he needs to but he does everything he can not to.
I was intending on trying to start toilet training him but this happened so it got put on the back burner. We can't get him anywhere near a toilet to even try sitting on it to see if it helps. He just screams and cries.
His behaviour has also taken a huge turn and he is very angry and clingy with 40m tantrums where he just screams. He is such an active little boy but he just seems to want to sit all the time now.
He's on movicol and we've upped his liquid intake, as well as making sure he's getting plenty of fibrous food but I'm at my wit's end as I'm at a loss as to how to help him.
Does anyone who's been in this situation have any advice.
Thanks so much.
