My DD (7ish months) likes to play with a wooden back massager ( has wooden roller balls on it), my mobile, the tv remote, my large make-up brush and hardly any of her toys.....can anyone recommend any other everyday items to keep her amused?

Some of the things my dd enjoyed at 7 months ish included - sieve, wooden spoon, soft hairbrush, plastic bowl, plastic spoon, a small plastic bottle with some dried pasta/pulses in it (to shake).

Someone with far more experience than me will be along later I'm sure!

You're not going to believe this, but this www.elc.co.uk/SearchProducts.php?words=crab&submit.x=15&submit.y=9 was the best toy we had from 5months until its batteries ran out. It stopped ds crying immediately almost without fail. When he was 5 months, we went on holiday with friends, and their 10mo loved it just as much!

A tin with a lid, especially if it's all shiny on the inside.

My 9 month is the same - surrounded by toys but much prefers my mobile (I'm now on my third after she copiously dribbled on the other two and broke them)

DVD cases, bubble wrap, clothes pegs, toothbrush, empty beaker, car keys, books, muslins, ribbon, packets of wipes, necklace (with big chunky wooden beads on), paper, buttons (attached to a cardigan or something)

Can't think of anything else

Newspaper!

DD loves scrunching, ripping and unfortunately eating them.

Currently a piece of telephone cord, a wooden lemon squeezer and keys...or anything his sister is playing with

Anything shiney, crinkly or plastic, and his Rain Forrest Jumperoo. He'll bounce around in that for ages very happily.

My six month old seems to enjoy banging a wooden spoon on pans?! Very noisy but better than crying! He also likes to play with paper bit I did notice that he chews on it and took a bite the other day so will have to rethink that one! He also likes to play with whole raw carrotts. I don't know why!

Ha! They're all the same then - mine like wooden spoons, newspaper, telephone cord (obviously watch to make sure no harm is done), phones, remote controls, cds, wooden bricks/shapes, a wooden bus with wooden people inside, computer mouse and keyboard, and pretty much anything else he can get his hands on.
