How to safely store puzzle pieces?

DS received several different puzzles for his birthday which don't have boxes. What is a safe way to store pieces together so they dont get mixed up?

Colour code the back of them with markers/coloured stickers.

Use zip wallets or lunchboxes to store. Take a photo of made up jigsaw and stick to front of the box or wallet.
