i have a 2.5 year old little boy who is going through autism diagnosis currently. He is non verbal, and all around happy little boy.
the problem is even when he’s happily playing, out of nowhere he will bite, scratch, pinch me pull me hair, you name it he does it.
ive tried everything from ignoring the behaviour to telling him off nothing works. If anything acknowledging what he’s doing only makes him worse.
he is a very poor sleeper takes hours to settle at night, then up for hours during the night , jumping shouting ect. I know he isn’t getting anywhere near the amount of sleep he needs but again I’ve tried everything on that subject to.
the thing is my partner works ( to be honest he doesn’t help much when home) and family all work/ have own lives ect so I’m pretty much struggling alone. I done know what I’m asking for really, advice or just to have a rant as I keep it all to myself.

That sounds so, so difficult to deal with.

I'm just wondering if you discovered the SN Children Section? You might find some MNers who if they can't offer advice can at least know what you're going through Flowers

Currently, going through the same with my 2.5 year old. My PM are open if ever want to talk. It’s hard with a child who can’t communicate their needs, I yearn for the day my son calls me mum. Sending you lots of love x
