Seven year keeps talking and laughing to himself

So weve both just come home and he keeps talking and laughing to himself to the point where I'm literally telling him to stop. Is this something kids do? Is it development characteristics for a seven year old? Is this a particular milestone? HELP I'm actually worried. He's a very smart child and hitting ALL targets in school. Is it a phase? Anyone else's chils displayed certain behaviours at this age?

Many thanks

That's not one I remember @isobel79. I can remember 7 being a bit challenging as they have a testosterone surge and can become a little defiant but I honestly can't remember this happening.

I know you are happy with his progress but I'd do this SLT progress checker, just to rule out any problems there.

I'd also talk to his Teacher about his behaviour at school, how he is socially and if he talks to himself there.
