10 year old massively jealous acting out

Can someone please help me. My dd just turned 10 and she has got quite a big attitude already. The problem we are having is she is a very jealous girl. She has been playing with her friend nearly all day in her room and her friend went to ask her sister (my youngest) if she wanted to play. They then went back to her room to suggest a game to play but immediately my oldest went in a strop and said they had to get out of her room and she was really nasty about it. I tried to tell her it’s ok and they can all play together but she started shouting at me telling me to leave and saying I liked her friend better. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of behaviour? It just seemed very over the top to me and now she’s refusing to play with her friend. I just don’t get it.

Hi! Has your little girl always had these reactions to similar scenarios or is it just now? I can speak from my own experience I used to be the same when I was younger but towards my mum. She was a big help in the community to all the kids and I would hate it when she played with the other kids. She didn't leave me out ever I just wanted her to only spend time with me.

I now have a 6 and 8 year old boys and my 6 year old is very jealous too especially in regards to his older brother. (Could be sibling based jealousy)

If your little girl doesn't want to play with her friend now it sounds like she may feel like she's not good enough because her friend wanted to include someone else, this is how I would feel growing up ( why is it not good enough to play with just me? )

Hope everything is ok! If you do manage to resolve it/ find an explanation please update! 🙂🙂
