Im a first time mum to my beautiful little girl who is just about to turn 8 months.
we’ve have a very tough and rough start as she has multiple allergies, suffered massively with silent reflux, was born with a hematoma and has has had her tongue tie revised twice.
At around 4 months we ended up in hospital with rsv and a doctor noted at the time she had quite bad head lag still although she was fab at tummy time and had even started to roll.
I tried to not worry about it as she seemed happy and meeting other milestones even with her bad tummy and itchy skin!
we are now approaching 8 months and we are starting to really notice that she doesn’t respond to her name being called, she rarely looks and keeps eye contact unless you literally jump up and down in front of her, she’s very interested in door knobs and light switches and will shriek and make noises at them but will not engage with babbling with people. She recognises me and dad and will smile when she sees us.
I’m just getting worried as she’s very behind socially compared to others at groups.
she barely sleeps at night but I always put this down to her gut and tummy issues and the same with scratching and pulling her hair- thought it was the eczema side but it’s feeling more frustration and habit.
I don’t really know what I’m looking for but I’m feeling so overwhelmed and hoping for some reassurance!
