7 month old sleeping on his front?

My lil son is 7 months and a week ish and turns to his front to sleep. I will turn him back when I catch him but he whines and turns back non stop. Is this safe? He’s been sleeping like this a few days and is still in one piece. He’s got a cold atm too so I’m worried about breathing etc. I get very conflicting advice on Google. Can he still get SIDS at that age?

Can he turn from his front to back?
If he can then you can let him choose his own sleeping position.

If they can roll onto their front themselves it's fine to leave them. SIDS risk drops dramatically after 6 months.

He can also roll front to back so should be fine. Just panicked but feel better about it thanks everyone

100% normal. My LO loves to belly sleep. With his little butt up in the air. As soon as he was able to roll on his sleep that was hos preference and he sleepa loads better on his tummy.
