DS1 was 4 in Sept and so just missed going to school (a good think in the long run I know but...!)Both DH and I work full time but have arranged it so that he is in nursery 1 1/2 days a week (where he has been since he was tiny) and then preschool (which he loves) 3 mornings; then he is either with one of us or the childminder in the afternoon (not quite as confusing as it might sound!). I went back to work in Jan following 8 months mat leave.
His behaviour really is pushing the limits at times even taking into account any testosterone levels that might be rising! He is bright and he is very verbally adept. He is also quite big for his age.
I am starting to keep a food/behaviour diary (he has intolerances to egg and dairy) to see if there is any connection and it does seem to be that he is particularly bad (ie manic) just after he has eaten - a bit like a sugar rush but it happens whatever he has had. Has anyone else had this?
Also his preschool are looking at doing more letters etc with him - he is v interested in reading/writing. I am really happy that he does this but am worried about when he starts school - will he be bored then???
I know that this is probably just typical 4 yr old but I know that they are finding him challenging at nursery and I want him to enjoy it - aargh!
