Does my baby have a milk allergy? Help!

I really need some advice, is this just normal behaviour or signs of a milk allergy?

baby is 4 weeks old. First week was very easy, slept and fed well, then there’s been progressively more vomiting and grunting. Diagnosed with reflux and prescribed omperazole. it hasn’t helped with the grunting and writhing around but she’s isn’t upset with the vomits now.

she’s EBF and vomiting after almost every feed, not always loads but always some. She’s constantly grunting and writhing around, making very strange noises. This happens day and night and not just related doing a poo/wind. poo’s frequently and a normally yellow/green colour. she’s doesn’t sleep well.

does this just sound like normal newborn behaviour to you? Or signs her gut is really struggling and there might be something else going on?

really would appreciate any insights!

Thanks

I'd say it could be, but this also sounds reasonably similar to mine who had tongue tie. This can cause reflux and wind too. How is her feeding otherwise? It might be worth considering.

With milk allergy different people get different symptoms so it's really difficult to say without doing a dairy free trial. If that's something you're considering, one of the key things is to make sure you drink a dairy free milk that contains iodine e.g. Oatly barista.
