My daughter didn’t walk until she was almost 2! All the other toddlers were running around and there she sat. She also moved herself around sitting on her bum, not crawling on her hands and knees as the other children did. I was very very worried so I know just how worried you are. I spent one Sunday totally focused on her walking and within the week she was running around! And so your little boy will soon be up and running and then you’ll have to have eyes in the back of your head!

According to this from the NHS you should see your GP or HV if they're not walking by 18 months.

I'd be tempted to ditch the baby walker first though and see if that encourages walking Flowers

Mine didn't walk until she was nearly 2 but she did make very slow and steady progress until then. She's 8 now and absolutely fine, no issues at all. I remember when she was a baby she just used to sit down and hardly move. Then when she finally crawled she would drag one leg out behind her. I think there is a wide range of normal within this developmental stage. I wouldn't worry, it sounds like he is trying and making progress. It will come in time.

My son is similar nearly 18 months and don't know what to do. Am wondering if you have had any luck? One piece of advice I have is getting them to play vertically squigz or spinners are good for this if stick them on door or window. This is meant to help strengthen there legs and give more confidents I'm getting worried now

It usually means the end of the month so im waiting until end of his 18th month before seeking help. Is he able to stand up by himself? My boy can't he pulls up to furniture and cruises great will stand alone holding a toy when distracted but not able to stand up alone I wonder is this a factor

Yes I think this is the issue trying to work on this. So hard honestly feel like I'm staying away from friends with babies same age cause I don't want to compare. So so hard. Hope health visitor can help you

Hi @worriedmamaxx, is your son walking now? My 18 month old is exactly the same, pushing his walker everywhere but won’t stand or walk independently
