Change or feed

Hi all!

My baby is coming up to 12 weeks old and our morning routine is forever changing.

I wanted to ask for advice. She has started sleeping through the night, 8pm- 7am. She feeds at 11pm and at 7 when she wakes up (disclaimer- she has more than enough milk during the day to enable her to do this). In the morning, she will scream her lungs out as soon as she wakes up- as she is obviously really hungry. However, I always change her first because she tends to have a heavy nappy but she tends to get quite distressed as she is desperate for her food.

What do you do first? Change or feed?

Personally I'd feed them change. Unless she takes longer than average to feed?

Feed her, she's hungry and once she's eaten she's likely to be happier getting changed.

Thank you both!!!

The thought of her sat in a wet nappy does something to me, BUT I will try it the other way around as it is about what she needs.

I know exactly what you mean but it does sound as though she'll be much happier with a feed then change Wink

To be honest, I also changed her nappies to a bigger size so she's actually not as uncomfortable in the morning as what she was!
