Developmental Delay - Osteopath

I am just wondering if anyone has ever used an cranial osteopath to help with delayed development. Namely, receptive speech and language delay and gross motor delay.

I have seem some success stories online but also some that have debunked their effectiveness so I am interested to see if anyone on here has first hand experience before I contact one for a consultation.

Thanks

Hi @RiverRock22
My DS (now 18) had cranial osteopathy as a baby (not as a newborn) because he seemed to be crying a lot and I had a pretty long and stressful labour followed by a ventouse delivery with him.

He couldn’t lie down flat on his back comfortably but after multiple sessions of CO, he could. She said he had very obvious tightenings in his jaw and pelvis and by the end of the sessions, said he felt like they were much looser.

I was a little sceptical because it really looks as though they’re barely touching them but he fell asleep while she was doing it so must have been nice.

Thanks @Verbena17 interesting that you found it helpful. I am sceptical but also would love for it to make some differences!
