Tips to stop sisters half killing each other, greatly appreciated

They are driving me nuts.

They start at breakfast and don't stop until bedtime. The walk to school is always a flashpoint and this morning resulted in one shoving the other in the road, and one hitting her sister round the head with her bag.

The walk home had them both fighting again, and dd2 ended up with a cut lip, I didn't see how that happened, was too busy chatting .

They are both now in their rooms and will be in bed at 7pm as punishment, but I need ways to get them to stop.

no idea Nutty, have the same problem here. One always get hurt.

Mine share a room too nutty (had to move them in together when I was expecting Callum) and they fight till one get hurt and I threaten to take all their toys and throw them away...

I recommend carving them a meat helmet.

See I don't have a sister so have no idea about this really.

My mum said her and her sister were exactly the same though.

Dd1 is getting right lippy lately, I am sure she is convinced she is 21 not 10.

me and misdee used to fight all the time. Must be a girl thing. And here I was having visions of them playing tea parties and house together

i really feel for you as my 2 are the same ages 10 and 4... normally the 4 beating up the 10 year old.....

My sister moving to America when I was 16 and she was 23 worked for us....

Beckle, I can remember my brothers being the same but unfortuatly i can't remember what my parents did to stop it.

I can see how that might put a stop to it Lilred. Do you miss her now though ?

TBH - she's been there that long that it seems normal. I last saw her in November, when she came over for her 40th birthday. We're not that close sadly, although I have visited her several times.

me and my sister fought quite a bit but there were clear rules about physical fighting. We were allowed to do it with the following rules:

not in public
not on the stairs
stop if someone starts sobbing
no kicking with shoes on
no biting
no scratching
no "weapons" - pillows etc allowed but nothing with the potential of inflicting too much damage.

It worked to the extent that sometimes you just need to express those frustrations and have a good tussle. We shared a room, too.

Getting out of school they both want to talk to me non-stop, usually, AND they argue about everything the other one said, which then escalates to ramming each other with scooters, attempting to trip or kick each other, etc.

So I often impose the rules that either, they have to take turns talking to me (so, DS talks to me until we have crossed the first road, DD to next road, etc.) OR, I threaten something like "No TV this afternoon!" if they speak to each other at all before we get home. They can talk to me or their brother, just not to each other. And then we go to taking turns for them talking to me.

Both strategies seem to help defuse things before they come to blows (often).

My two were getting quite bad and usually I threaten to remove xyz and then follow through. But I was fed up with it one day and while they were battering lumps out of each other I shouted right thats it. No DS's for the next hour.
Oh the sobbing..........
No fighting for 3 days followed...when they did it again I did the same thing. Immediate hour removal of DSs with no option to pause or save game.
I have found thier weakness and it works.
We have gone to 3 or 4 proper fights a day to..NONE!

Nope mine either Sparkly. It would work with Ds though.

Can't think of anythint hat would work with mine. I nearly banned them from stopping at my mums tonight, but then I thought that would be silly as I will finally get some peace LOL.
