physiotherapy for late walker

Hey everyone,

My son is 17 months old, perfectly healthy, happy baby but he doesn’t seem to wanna walk independently yet, when he does walk using a push walker, he’s always on his toes, when he’s just standing he stands on his toes most of the time.
I spoke to my health visitor and she said that he will need a referral to physiotherapy if he doesn’t walk by next month.

so I’m wondering if anyone had a similar experience and if they had good results from physio.

thanks all

We’re in a similar situation over here. DD is 17 months and will walk holding your hand or using a push walker but not independently. We saw the health visitor 2 days ago and they said as she’s making moves in the right direction physio won’t see her until 20 months (she did speak to physio). We have been referred to speech and language though as she’s also not saying any words…

Ahh yes! My DS barely says anything too, about 2-3 words. And when it comes to walking he refuses to hold my hand and walk, he just collapses his knees!
I hope the therapies help your little one with the speaking and walking real soon!
