Hi everyone

My son is 6 months old, 7 next week. He is amazing!! Except... He still Wakes up every 3 hours, cries when tired, has a milk allergy so I'm trialling different milks... He just seems grumpy and whinges a lot. I give him calpol sometimes as I think maybe he's teething too and the milk allergy is a factor. But I am so drained, I'd like some stories to help me feel positive, as everyday feels the same and I'm starting to think I'm a terrible mum 😢

I think waking every 3 hours at this age is fairly normal. About half of all babies still wake and need a parent to help them get back to sleep at 12 months so it's definitely nothing you are doing wrong.

Can I just ask what milk you are trialing? Have you been referred to a Paediatric Dietician too?

@PritiPatelsMaker we are under a dietician and have tried neocate which didn't agree with my son. He was constipated and wasn't taking enough fluids, so he has changed to sma alfamino where we are seeing some minor improvements but it's still early days.

The sleep doesn't sound that unusual for his age, really sorry. For lots of babies it can take until at least 12 months for things to really settle down. We started getting some longer stretches (5-6 hours) around 8 months but it remained inconsistent with ups and downs until around 13/14 months. Sympathy, it's really rough, but it will get better.
